Refugee Women’s Health: Reproductive Health Disparities and Best Practice Paradigms

Description: The primary audience for this presentation is clinicians. It will present an overview of refugee women’s health and the challenges faced by healthcare professionals in providing culturally competent reproductive health care and family planning.  Dr. Johnson-Agbakwu will discuss best practices used at the Refugee Women’s Health Clinic (RWHC), a unique patient-centered medical home that serves more than 1,500 refugee women, predominantly from Burma, Somalia, Burundi, Iraq, and Bhutan.
